Gozney makes both, and on the two numbers people usually compare first they are identical: a 950°F ceiling and the same warranty. Everything that separates them is size.

The Dome publishes capacity for an 18-inch pizza, or three 10-inch pizzas at once. The Roccbox takes one pizza, up to 12 inches. For a household that eats one pizza at a time, that difference is academic. For a party, it is the whole argument.
The 950°F is the same
Gozney publishes a 950°F maximum for the Dome and says the Roccbox reaches in excess of 950°F. The ceiling is not a reason to choose either one.
What Gozney does not publish for either is a recovery time — how quickly the stone comes back between pizzas. That is the figure a heavier oven is usually said to win on, and with the Dome at 136.7 lb the argument is plausible. It is still an argument rather than a number, and we are not going to print one on Gozney's behalf.
Only the Roccbox publishes a heat-up time: 700°F in under 20 minutes. Note what that figure is — the time to 700°F, not to its maximum.
Size is the decision
Gozney publishes the Dome at 136.7 lb for the oven alone, 32.5 inches wide, 25.7 deep and 38.8 tall. That is a fixture. It wants a counter or a stand that can take it, and it is worth measuring for before you order.
The Roccbox is the one Gozney sells as portable — a scaled-down version of its commercial ovens, with retractable legs and a detachable burner. Gozney does not publish its weight on the product page. It does publish the safe-touch silicone jacket, which it says reduces the risk of the skin burns that come from brushing against a hot oven — a real consideration with children around.
What fits through the door
For anything beyond pizza, the number that matters is the mouth. Gozney publishes the Dome's as 16.5 inches wide and 5.2 inches tall, with 8.9 inches of height inside. Anything shorter than 5.2 inches, lid included, goes through the door. Measure a Dutch oven before you plan a roast around it.
Gozney does not publish the Roccbox's mouth or internal height, so we cannot tell you what cookware clears it.
The Dome's console takes two meat probes alongside its air and stone readings, which is the instrument set you would want for a roast. The Roccbox has a built-in underfloor thermometer, which reads the stone.
Gozney also lists the Dome as hybrid: it runs on wood, charcoal or propane.
Which one to buy
Buy the Roccbox if you want to move it and you cook one pizza at a time. Retractable legs, a detachable burner and a safe-touch jacket are the features Gozney builds it around.
Buy the Dome if you cook for a crowd and have somewhere permanent to put 136.7 lb. It takes three 10-inch pizzas at once, has a console that reads air and stone temperature with two meat probes, and runs on wood, charcoal or propane.
Both are 950°F ovens with the same warranty. Choose on size.
Common questions
- Can the Roccbox bake anything other than pizza?
- Gozney does not give the internal height of the Roccbox on its product page, so we cannot tell you what cookware clears it. For the Dome it does: the mouth is 5.2 inches tall and the chamber 8.9 inches, which is the number to check a skillet or a Dutch oven against.
- Can you move the Gozney Dome around your patio?
- Not casually. Gozney publishes 136.7 lb for the Dome, oven alone, and external dimensions of 32.5 by 25.7 by 38.8 inches. It publishes no weight for the Roccbox, which it sells as portable, with retractable legs and a detachable burner.
- How do the thermometers compare?
- The Roccbox has a built-in underfloor thermometer, which reads the stone. The Dome has a digital console that reads both air and stone temperatures and takes two meat probes.
- Do both ovens reach Neapolitan temperatures?
- Gozney publishes a 950°F maximum for the Dome and says the Roccbox reaches in excess of 950°F. Neither publishes a recovery time between pizzas, so which one holds its heat better across a run of bakes is not something either spec sheet answers.
- Which one heats up faster?
- Only the Roccbox publishes a figure: 700°F in under 20 minutes, which is the time to 700°F rather than to its maximum. Gozney publishes no heat-up time for the Dome.
- What is the warranty on each?
- The same on both: one year as standard, extended to five years if you register the oven within 60 days of purchase.
