Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the retailer pays us a commission. You pay the same price either way — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your pocket.

Our main programme is Amazon Associates. We may also join brand-direct programmes; where we do, the same rules apply.

Affiliate links are marked as sponsored in the page markup, so search engines and screen readers can identify them as commercial links.

It doesn’t change a ranking, and we don’t accept payment for placement or a favourable verdict. But “trust us” is a weak promise, so we structure the site to make it checkable: every recommendation cites the sources it rests on, and you can follow them and disagree with our reading.

We also link to products we recommend against buying, and to products where we earn nothing, when those are the right answer.

Amazon’s Operating Agreement requires any displayed price to come from their Product Advertising API and to be no more than 24 hours old. We do not have API access yet, so publishing a number would mean publishing a number we cannot keep accurate.

Instead you get a band — $ under $300, $$ $300–$700, $$$ $700–$1,500, $$$$ over $1,500 — and a link to check the live price yourself. A stale price that looks authoritative is worse than an honest range.

We do not use retailer product imagery we have no licence for, and we do not hotlink images from Amazon. Where we cannot show a product legitimately, we use our own diagrams instead.

Worth repeating here because it bears on how you should read a recommendation: we have no lab and no test kitchen. Our figures come from manufacturer documentation, published third-party testing and owner reports, and they are attributed to those sources on the page.

We correct errors and date the change rather than editing silently. Specs get revised and models get superseded; a page that was right in March can be wrong by September.
